MAJOR color correction. Maybe the worst I’ve ever seen.
January 14, 2015Another stylist in the Charlotte area MELTED this clients hair off by leaving her unattended with bleach all over her hair under a hot dryer for 45 minutes. All the clients hair in the crown area broke off pretty short, as you can see in the first photo. The client wasn’t sure what to do so she waited a few months and in the mean time put box color on her roots, adding orange roots to the list of problems. She came in last week to have it fixed and I was happy to help!
The journey to healthy, perfect blonde hair will take several visits for this client. This before-after photo set is from the first visit but I will add updates as her hair continues to improve.
I meticulously applied lightener to the top of her hair and the yellow ends with cream lightener and a new hair treatment called OLAPLEX**. Any overlap onto the white overprocessed band in her hair would result in more 2” long broken hair. Afterward I custom mixed two different toners to further even out the color and did a protein treatment with L’oreal Professional Powercell Repair Treatment. I also cut off around 1.5”. I’m glad to say her hair actually had some bounce and shine to it afterward. The top/crown area is still short in the after photos, but I showed her how to pin it up so that no one else will be able to tell. Next visit we plan on adding some hair extensions to the crown to cover up the breakage until it can grow out.
**OLAPLEX repairs the disulfide bonds, which are a component of protein in hair, and it does so even as the bonds are being broken down by the color. It’s a revolutionary new product and I’m certain that it is about to explode in the hair industry.
